Review: Foot Peeling

For the faint hearted I can assure you straight away this review will not contain any pictures of nasty scaly or peeling feet... if you want to know what a foot looks when it's shedding several layers of skin just look it up on Google images!

And so to my review: I've always had a bit of a thing about foot care and scarcely a week goes by without the foot files coming out followed by me slathering on moisturiser and  putting on the overnight socks to keep it in place.

Recently I became aware of foot peeling  products and decided to give them a go.

You can buy
'Baby Foot Exfoliating Peel' for £20.00 or more  - or like
me you can go onto Ebay and get someone in Singapore to send
you the exact same thing in a different packet for less than £2.00.

To Use

I find it best to soak my feet in warm water for about 15 minutes and then towel dry before use; this softens the feet and makes them more receptive to 'the treatment'

Incidentally if you ever have trouble cutting tough toenails now is the time to do it, after soaking in the warm water they will be softer and much easier to trim.

What you will find in the pack are two plastic bootees (containing milk fermentation extract, lactic acid, protease) which you slip on to your feet, seal with a bit of tape, and then leave in place for two hours.

This is the boring bit.

You'll be okay to walk around the floor but don't attempt stairs unaided. After two hours take off the plastic bags, rinse your feet, and wait.

After a couple of days you will probably have convinced yourself you've wasted your money.

Then all at once the hard skin on your feet will start to peel off to reveal the baby soft skin underneath.

This stage is a bit messy and for me the peeling always starts between my toes.

You can speed up the peeling (once it's started) by soaking your feet in warm water and white vinegar but that's a hassle and it's much easier to just gently rub away any loose peeling skin after each time you bathe or shower.

It'll all be gone in no time at all.

After all the dead skin has all been removed you will have the softest prettiest feet you have ever had since you were a baby.

Just in time for those summer sandals.

This is NOT a sponsored review I just like to share when something has impressed me :)

  1. This sounds really interesting - I have ongoing problems with hard skin and foot creams/body moisturisers just don't seem very effective. The best cream I've found so far is Burt's Bees Coconut Foot Cream - it gives lovely soft feet but takes a couple of weeks of daily application - it looks and smells disgusting (combination of coconut and eucalyptus) but it really does work ;o)
